But either way, we are not able to spend a lot of time with our families because of the smudged line between professional and personal time. There are some easy changes that you can make in your everyday schedule to increase the quality of family time you spend. Wondering what those changes are? Read on to know more.

An age-old saying ‘ A family that eats together, stays together’ still holds. In our busy and constantly changing lives, one thing conscious effort that we can make is to eat together. Having those few minutes off without any deterrence of digital gadgets or Netflix. An essential rule for the dinner table should be ‘no phones.’ It will allow everyone to participate and enjoy the conversation. There is nothing like a heart to heart sessions with your family members. Discuss each other’s days, talk about sports, talk about movies, and listen as well. A good conversation is always two ways. Have a nice cup of Assam CTC after dinner. 😉 This will help you to come closer with your family members, and no matter what is going in your life, you will be able to buy yourself some off time.

Ditch Netflix and Chill for Family Time.

Yes, if you want to have a good time with your family, then get off Netflix. Do not spend your free time and holidays lounging on the couch in front of your tv. Utilize your free time by interacting with your family members. Now that mostly everyone is home, you can always come with fun games and activities which can create a more inclusive environment in your home. Team games like UNO, Ludo, Monopoly, and the classic Carrom can raise the fun quotient magnificently. More than anything, it will also help you to take your mind off of the things that can potentially stress you out. Maybe you can learn brewing some new and cool tea blends or go for the classics.

How about a short Family Time trip?

Nothing brings people closer than a short, safe, and sweet trip. Revisit an old favorite place or venture out to find a new location. It is always a good idea to get some good outdoor air. *carefully*

Planning a nice picnic with some of your favorite snacks or trying on some new snack dishes you watched on Youtube. Hire a sanitized cab or take your car and go to the outskirts of your city. Take a trip to the mountains if you can, have a relaxing evening on the beach if you are near the sea, or take a stroll through the forest. Traveling always brings an opportunity to recreate old memories while making new ones. You can never go wrong with traveling. So plan a short but safe trip with your family this weekend. An insider tip, include Ayurvedic Tea in your picnic basket. It will improve your immunity and help you keep safe.

Create a ‘me’ calendar

There is always going to be important work at your professional front. There is consistently going to be something that needs your attention. Yet, make some ‘me’ time for yourself and your family. It is important to detach yourself from your work and especially in the current scenario, but it is necessary. In this ‘me’ time, you can spend time with your family, try to cook something new, or louch and gossip around. Maybe, you can pick up an old hobby like painting, drawing, take care of the plants in your garden/balcony, and try playing that guitar that sits in your closet. This small change can go a long way in improving your family time. Add in a fragrant cup of chamomile and lavender tea to your ‘me’ time as well. It will help you to relax both mentally and physically at the end of the day.

Participate in Chores

It’s like a team-building activity but at your home. You could be lazy and not be willing to do anything at home. You can give yourself plenty of reasons why you should not do it. But, if you incorporate doing chores like washing utensils after dinner with your family or help out in the weekly cleaning in your schedule, you will realize how amazing it feels to work at home also. After all, it’s your home as well. You can create a plan to divide the chores among all the members of the family. It will allow all members to work together as a team to get the work done. This plan will improve communication between all the family members and let all of you spend more time together having fun. You could also try some cool ways to make your chores fun. So, get off your lazy ass and help out your mom and other family members in errands. You can also enjoy a nice cup of warm green tea together after getting done with all the work.
